2. Overwatch 2 Mouse Input Architecture

Overwatch 2 uses Blizzard custom engine scaling where sensitivity is represented on a percentage scale from 0.01% to 100%. A sensitivity value of 5.0 equals exactly 1.5 in CS2.

Input Mechanics
Hero shooters feature intense verticality and close-range encounters. High-mobility heroes (such as Tracer and Genji) often benefit from faster sensitivity than hitscan heroes (such as Widowmaker and Cassidy).

3. OW2 eDPI & Sensitivity Formula

In Overwatch 2, your effective sensitivity (eDPI) represents the true product of your hardware optical sensor resolution and in-game sensitivity slider:

OW2 eDPI = Mouse Hardware DPI × In-Game Sensitivity

For example, 800 DPI × 5 Sensitivity = 4000 eDPI.

4. Physical 360° Turn Distance

Physical turn distance (measured in cm/360 or inches/360) is the ultimate metric for muscle memory synchronization. It calculates the exact mousepad width required to complete a full 360-degree rotation.

cm/360 = [ 360° ÷ (DPI × Sensitivity × 0.0066) ] × 2.54

FAQ

Overwatch 2 FAQ

Common questions about mouse sensitivity and DPI in Overwatch 2.

How do I convert CS2 sensitivity to Overwatch 2?
Multiply your CS2 sensitivity by 3.3333. For example, 1.2 sens in CS2 equals 4.0 sens in Overwatch 2.
What is a typical eDPI in Overwatch 2?
Competitive Overwatch 2 players typically play between 3,200 and 6,000 eDPI (e.g. 800 DPI @ 4.0 to 7.0 in-game sensitivity).
