Mouse DPI Button Not Working?

1. Why Is Your DPI Button Not Responding?
When clicking your mouse's physical DPI toggle button produces zero change in cursor speed or LED indicator color, the issue is almost always a software profile configuration rather than a broken physical mouse.
2. Fix 1: Check Button Remapping in Software
Open your mouse companion software (Logitech G HUB, Razer Synapse, SteelSeries GG). Navigate to the Button Assignment / Keybinds section. Ensure the physical DPI button is assigned to "DPI Cycle" or "DPI Shift" rather than being disabled or remapped to a media key or macro.
3. Fix 2: Check for Locked Single-Stage DPI
In your software sensitivity settings, check how many DPI stages are active. If you only have one DPI stage configured (e.g. only 800 DPI is enabled, with 400, 1600, and 3200 deleted), pressing the DPI cycle button will do nothing because there are no other stages to cycle between. Add at least two stages (e.g. 800 and 1600) to restore button switching.
4. Fix 3: Toggle Onboard Memory vs Software Mode
If your mouse is in Onboard Memory Mode, it ignores live companion software settings and relies strictly on the firmware profile flashed to its internal chip. Flash your updated profile to the onboard slot or toggle software mode back on.
5. Fix 4: Test for Physical Switch Hardware Failure
