1. Why Does Your DPI Keep Resetting?
If your mouse sensitivity feels normal on your desktop but suddenly becomes ultra-fast or sluggish when launching a game, restarting your PC, or waking from sleep, your mouse is experiencing an automatic profile shift.
2. Cause 1: Automatic Game Profile Switching
Most gaming software (Logitech G HUB, Razer Synapse, Corsair iCUE) automatically detects running .exe files. When you alt-tab into CS2, Valorant, or Discord, the software switches to a dedicated profile that may have a different DPI assigned. In software settings, enable "Persistent Profile / Lock Profile" to force a single DPI everywhere.

When your PC first boots, your mouse runs on its internal onboard hardware profile.
