What is the single most important rule for mouse DPI?
Consistency. Never change your hardware DPI, Windows pointer multiplier, and in-game sensitivity simultaneously. Pick a stable baseline (such as 800 or 1600 DPI with Windows at Notch 6/11 and Raw Input enabled), record your physical cm/360 turn distance, and maintain that exact physical feel across all titles.

1. Choose a Controllable DPI (800 or 1600)
Avoid extreme numbers. Running at 800 or 1600 DPI ensures:

- Zero Artificial Smoothing: Modern optical sensors operate at 800–1600 DPI without triggering heavy microcontroller noise filters.

2. Change Only One Variable at a Time
When fine-tuning your aim, changing mouse skates, mousepad surface, DPI, and in-game sensitivity all in the same session makes it impossible to isolate what improved or hurt your performance.
Keep your hardware DPI constant (e.g. 1600 DPI) and adjust only in-game sensitivity in small 2–5% increments.
3. Lock Your OS Pointer Settings to 6/11
Open classic Windows Control Panel (main.cpl) → Pointer Options tab. Ensure the slider is positioned exactly on the 6th notch (1.00x multiplier). In Windows 11 modern settings, set "Mouse pointer speed" to 10.
4. Eliminate Mouse Acceleration
